Statement of Faith

ChristianPlural is a community of professing Christians. Our members come from many denominations and traditions, and we do not require agreement on every secondary matter. We do ask every member to affirm the core beliefs below, which form the foundation of who we are.

The Scriptures

We believe the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired and authoritative Word of God and our final guide for faith and life.

God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man. We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His death on the cross for our sins, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, and His promised return.

Salvation

We believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ, and not earned by our own works.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit indwells and guides believers, growing us in holiness, truth, and love.

Marriage and family

We believe marriage is a sacred covenant designed by God, and that the family is central to His purposes. We hold the sincere conviction that plural marriage, a man joined in covenant to more than one wife, is honored in Scripture, was practiced by the patriarchs and other faithful people of God, and can be lived today in obedience, love, and devotion to Christ. We pursue this calling with reverence and responsibility, never as license, and always under the Lordship of Jesus.

A life of love and holiness

We believe followers of Christ are called to love God and to love one another, to walk in integrity, and to treat every person with dignity as one made in the image of God.
